Our hair is one of our most beautiful features. This statement is true for both men and women. It is also one of the most noticeable physical aspects of a person. Women make great efforts to take care of their hair and maintain its good health and shine. But men often fail to give their hair similar care.
Hair loss is a problem that is quite common among both genders. Yet when it comes to hair loss treatment, men rarely make the same amount of effort as women do. Hair loss treatment for men is quite a complicated issue. It doesn’t take long before hair loss turns into baldness. And, problems such as dandruff, dry hair, split ends or greying hair become a common part of men’s daily lives.
1. Have a healthy lifestyle
Other than genetics, one of the biggest contributors of hair loss and in fact most other diseases is stress. This is why it is very important to lead a healthy life. Epinephrine and cortisol are both stress hormones that interfere with the natural growth of hair. Although it is easier said than done to eliminate stress completely from your life, there are many ways through which you can relax your mind and stay calm and happy such as practising yoga, working out and meditating. Yogic breathing techniques are also another tool to calm your mind. Other habits that can affect your hair negatively are drinking alcohol and smoking. Try to avoid drinking alcohol and smoking as these habits can slow your hair growth.
2. Have a clean diet
Whether your hair loss has reached the stage of balding or not, eating a healthy, balanced diet is very important for your overall health. Consume fresh fruits and vegetables for healthy hair growth. Food rich in iron, zinc, proteins and omega 3 fatty acids are great for your hair. These foods also improve blood circulation in your scalp and boost hair growth.
3. Garlic juice
Garlic is also known as a miracle food. It is also one of the best home remedies for hair loss. Extract the garlic juice and apply it on your scalp using a cotton ball. Leave the juice on your scalp overnight before washing it off the next morning using a herbal shampoo. Rich in zinc and calcium, garlic juice makes your hair healthy.
4. Onion Juice
Onion is also a good home remedy for hair loss. The antibacterial properties of onion helps to combat the scalp infection. Onion also contains sulphur which improves blood circulation to the scalp and stimulates hair follicles. It promotes hair growth and controls hair fall. Extract onion juice by grinding it in a mixer and taking out the juice. Now apply this juice on your scalp with a cotton ball. Let it stay on your hair for around 30 minutes before washing your hair with a mild shampoo. Repeat once a week to see the difference.
5. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera contains proteolytic enzymes that repair dead skin cells on the scalp. It stimulates hair growth from dormant hair follicles and increases hair volume. It also works as a great conditioner and leaves your hair feeling shiny and smooth. It not only boosts hair growth, but also prevents scalp itching and reduces dandruff. Consuming aloe vera juice orally helps in maintaining smooth, radiant skin.
6. Keep your scalp sweat-free
Wearing a helmet while driving leads to major hair loss in summer since sweat accumulates in the pores and weakens hair roots causing hair loss. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you stop wearing your helmet. But before you put it on, wear a scarf or a terry cloth headband underneath to prevent hair loss.
Finally, men should keep in mind that if they want to have good hair then they need to take care of it. Wanting your hair to look attractive is not a sign of vanity but rather just plain good sense.
